Improving Clinical Data Exchange, Patient Safety, and Information Access

Zen Healthcare IT (“Zen”), a leader in healthcare data interoperability technology and services, has been selected as the healthcare data integration platform solution for SacValley MedShare Health Information Exchange (“SVMS”). The flexible integration as a service platform offered through Gemini will expand and accelerate data exchange and data quality across the 16-county region in Northern California served by SVMS.

Robust clinical exchange technology is a requirement for regions of the country where populations are geographically dispersed and distance between care settings makes care coordination more difficult. Providers become very dependent on the ability to share patient information securely and obtain high quality data from hospitals and doctors’ offices where their patients may have traveled to receive care.

SVMS is using the Zen Gemini Enterprise Integration Platform, a fully-managed technology model commonly referred to as “Integration as a Service” (IaaS). The platform enables them to create and maintain interfaces between healthcare organizations. The managed services infrastructure helps HIEs operate very efficiently and deliver high volumes of quality data within environments where scale and reliability are mission critical.
