It’s my birthday month, so I always enter October with a sense of “there is so much to do – and so little time left to do it”.  That seems to also be a common theme for many of our discussions with clients and prospects. It is exciting to see so many organizations finally moving aggressively to fill interoperability gaps and we are enjoying diving into so many interesting discussions.  Many of these discussions are driving our ongoing solution development efforts.  In addition, they are driving a need for Zen to expand our team.  I am pleased to announce two new Zen team members:

Technical Project Management:  Blake Severson joined our team in late September and will be working on our Technical Project Management team. He brings a wealth of experience in project management in a healthcare aren and is already contributing great ideas to his team.

Engineering: Jose Mendiola joins our engineering team in mid October. He has many years of experience working with Mirth Connect and is excited to have the opportunity to work in Zen’s optimized Gemini environment.

Congratulations to Lacey Mendoza who is now our Director of Client Engagements, heading up our TPM team.  Lacey has made significant contributions to the Zen team since she joined us in March this year, and it is great to have her voice on the Senior Leadership team.

Solution News

Did you know that Zen provides a Gemini-Integration-as-a-Service CURES solution for California organizations needing better integration with the CA DOJ’s CURES opioid registry? We have added several new features to our SSO based integration for Provider Portals, including adding the CURES ‘picklist’ functionality, which makes it easier to get a patient match. We are also upgrading CURES to support new security related requirements. The beauty of Gemini is that we do it, so you don’t have to!

Interoperability Challenge of the Month

Trying to send a high volume of messages into a message archive or data lake?  We are increasingly being asked to help our friends solve this frustrating problem when large volumes of messages are consumed every day. The challenges include 1) Properly tagging and cataloging the messages for better retrieval options in the future. 2) Reducing the need to touch every interface to route to a message archive 3) Proper handling of the message consumption process so that Mirth Connect processing instances do not fail or become unstable. If you are having similar issues, please give us a call – we can help.
