Zen Healthcare IT welcomes Dave Sikina as Director of IT & Security

We are pleased to officially announce the appointment of Dave Sikina to the Zen Healthcare IT leadership team. Dave has served as Zen’s strategic security advisor for the last six months and is now assuming the newly expanded leadership role as Director of IT & Security.

“Health IT vendors, health systems, health information exchanges, and even payers in the healthcare space look to us for technology and services to simplify interoperability,” says Marilee Benson, President of Zen Healthcare IT. “It is imperative that our technology, infrastructure and security policies continue to meet the rigorous demands placed on healthcare data security. We are excited to have Dave leading these efforts. He will also be a valuable resource for Zen clients who have similar needs for security expertise.”

Dave’s 20+ years of information technology and security experience has helped establish and expand three core security competency areas at Zen Healthcare IT.

• Information Security – expertise in risk assessment, information security strategy, IT audit (SSAE 16/SSAE 18/SOC 1, SOC 2,), business continuity, and information security policies.
• IT Infrastructure – leadership in network design, server and storage virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, cloud services, and colocation services.
• IT Management – mastery in systems development, network management, strategic planning, and staff management

These competencies will not only govern Zen’s integration as a service platform and technology development but will also help provide guidance and support to Zen client’s who are navigating a challenging healthcare security environment. Dave will be leading efforts related to HITRUST ^®and HIPAA compliance, supporting both Zen and Zen’s clients’ needs in these areas.

Prior to Zen Healthcare IT, Dave served in information technology leadership roles at Doxim, Inc. and Intelligent Document Solutions (IDS.com) in the highly regulated and security-conscious financial services arena.
